CDC Facilities Management – Moog Engineering, Tewkesbury

Industrial Scaffolding

Background

In November 2022, CDC Facilities Management asked us to tender for a more unusual scaffolding project. We were asked to provide a specialist access solution at a brand-new building for Moog Engineering. The scaffolding was designed and built to allow CDC’s contractors to access around the rooflines and wide range of air handling units to install a large amount of ducting so they could create a clean air system around the building.

Challenges

Although the building space was vast, there wasn’t a lot of space for us to work around the various fixed machine units. We had to be extremely careful with the scaffold around the very specialist and high value equipment but as always MTS Scaffolding were up for the challenge!

Objectives

We needed to build a wide range of scaffolding solutions to overcome the access issues around the building including independent scaffolds, birdcages, crash decks, specialist loading bays and lift shaft scaffolds.

Results

We worked closely with CDC over a 2 year period, moving and adding a large amount of scaffolding around the building, creating new access solutions as the project progressed. The contract value for this project was £75,000 and we will continue to work with CDC on this building as it evolves.
